A fight between a man and young lady turned deadly as the man hit the lady with a hammer sending her crashing to the floor.
The incident reportedly happened in one of the hoods in Southeast Atlanta. In the shocking video, the man is seen arguing with the lady, who reports say is a teenager. The argument became really heated and the man raised a hammer and hit her on her head with it.
The impact threw the lady to the ground and, at this point, neighbours who were watching but didn’t interfere now made a move to restrain the man. One female in the group raised a chair and went after the man, saying, “I’m going to kill you.”
Following the violent attack, the girl was reportedly taken to the hospital with a cracked skull.
The Nigerian presidency has reacted to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan’s recent criticism of President Buhari’s administration.
At the Inauguration of the first bridge built by Governor Fayose in Ekiti, Jonathan, who spoke at the event, warned President Muhammadu Buhari against rigging the July 14 election and also saying that the country had lost respect internationally under the present administration.
Reacting to the former leader’s comments, Personal Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie tweeted;
“Watching ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, a man whose name is on the lips of looters having authorised the looting of our commonwealth.
He’s shamelessly on National TV and dared to advise President Buhari on issues bothering on the growth of democracy.
The immediate past governor of
Plateau State and Senator representing Plateau North, Jonah Jang has stated
that his being in prison is divinely ordained, stressing that nobody should
boast of sending him to prison.
Jang stated this is a goodwill
message through his former Commissioner of Information and Communication Yiljap
Abraham, at the ongoing 94th General Church Council of Church of Christ in
Nations (COCIN) in Jos, the Plateau state capital.
Yiljap, who read out Senator
Jang’s message, said, “For me being in the prison is a great lesson in
humility, when I was at the EFCC Abuja I slept on the floor, but here in the
prison I have the privilege of sleeping in the same bed that former President
Olusegun Obasanjo slept when in Jos Prison”.
Jang and one Yusuf Pam are to
appear before a Jos High Court on Thursday (May 24, 2018) as they seek bail
over an alleged fraud case filed against them by the Economic and Financial
Crimes Commission (EFCC) said to have been committed while the former was
The anti-graft agency had filed a
12-count charge against Jang and Pam, which include misappropriation of monies
disbursed by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) meant for prospective
beneficiaries of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Fund (MSMEDF),
dishonestly diverting and misappropriating “certain property” summing up to
various amount of money.
The said offences, according to
the charges, are punishable under section 309 of the Penal Code Law of Northern
Nigeria applicable to Plateau State.
It would be recalled that a Jos
High Court had ordered that the two aforementioned persons be remanded at the
Jos Prison, pending the determination of their bail application on Thursday,
24th, May, 2018.
Meanwhile, speaking shortly after
Jang’s message, Governor Simon Lalong said himself was at one point a visitor
to the prison and had spent 40 days during which he received a lot of
revelations from God.
Lalong said, “Before I became the
Governor of Plateau State, as a Speaker of the State House of Assembly then I
also slept for 40 days in the prison, and when I was there I received a lot of
revelations and by that time I was ready to face the allegations against me and
I was clear at the end of the day”.
“Now as a Governor I know when I
vacate the office there will be a time for me to account for my stewardship,
but when somebody refused to humble himself to accept his imperfection, then
the law takes it over”.
The Governor urged the church
leadership to pray for his administration as well as unite the state to stand
for justice, saying he views the church leaders as partners in the formulation
of policies of government.
However, it was gathered that the
former governor had paid fines for about fifty inmates and led the prayer
session in the prison during last Sunday’s church service.
He has also helped the prison
authority to settle backlog of electricity bills they were owing the distribution
company, a situation that has made electricity available in the facility.
Fani-Kayode, in a terse statement he sent to The Eagle Online on Tuesday, spoke a day after President Buhari took a jab at Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, accusing him of having spent $15 billion on power with nothing to show for it
A former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has said President Muhammadu Buhari begged like a baby when he was confronted with reports of looted funds under his watch at the Petroleum Trust Fund.
Fani-Kayode, in a terse statement he sent to The Eagle Online on Tuesday, spoke a day after President Buhari took a jab at Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, accusing him of having spent $15 billion on power with nothing to show for it.
Buhari was the Chairman of the PTF during the regime of late General Sani Abacha, whom he eulogised as having built roads and made significant contributions in the areas of health and education.
Fani-Kayode said in his statement on Wednesday: “The greatest mistake that President Obasanjo made was not to prosecute and jail President Buhari for looting PTF funds.
“I saw the report and it was shocking.
“Billions of dollars had vanished.
“Obasanjo summoned him and showed him the damning report.
“Buhari begged like a baby.
“Sadly Obasanjo let him off the hook.”
Passengers at a bus station near Moi University in Kesses were on Friday treated to a rare treat after a university student whacked a tout who was attempting to seduce her in the matatu.
The tout was busy loading a luggage onto the matatu and coincidentally saw a pretty Moi University girl in a miniskirt, and immediately begun ‘salivating for her’.
The lass commonly known as Chepkemoi boarded the vehicle and to the wish of the tout, she sat just next to him. By then the lady’s friend was withdrawing some cash from a nearby MPesa shop before joining her.
The naughty conductor could not carry on calling out for more passengers as he was busy admiring the girl. He was charmed by the girl’s sexual nature and begun behaving strangely as he started he started winking and rapidly running his tongue over his lips.
The lady on realizing the tout’s manners, she started clicking and loudly said, “these matatu conductors are mannerless.” Other passengers, most of who were university students who had boarded the matatu agreed with the lass with one issuing a tough warning, “You conductor stop your actions or we will kick you,” one of the lady’s friend was heard saying.
The lady also gained some courage at hit out at the ‘manamba’ for being mannerless. “Whom are you seducing with this kind of wearing, am not your type?” she said.
The courageous tout, however, responded harshly to the lady accusing her of wearing inappropriate dress saying,
“you ladies are the ones to have manners, why do you wear short skirts to show us your nakedness.”
“And you passengers you should check what you wear before boarding this matatu,” he added.
This did not go down well with other passengers who started shouting at the tout as they threatened to alight from the vehicle.
The conductor and driver remained adamant as they ordered the passengers to move out and board another vehicle of their choice.
“It’s better than being in a matatu that has naked minds,” Chepkemoi said as she boarded the next matatu.
