A first-year student pursuing a degree in Education at the University of Eldoret is trending after he allegedly bought his girlfriend a dress worth Sh6,000 and Shoes costing Sh4,000.

Reports indicate the student bought the commodities from a top online market in the country.

Those close to him revealed through social media that he used his school fees to buy the gifts.

“He was supposed to pay school fees with the money. I was with him when he received the money through Mpesa from his father,” one of his close friends posted on whats app while the issue was trending.

The dress and shoes were presented to the girlfriend only identified as Kendi who is also the first year as birthday gifts.

“I hear it was Kendi’s birthday and he wanted to surprise her,” another post from a lady who is close to the girlfriend read.

Sources say the young man is from an average background while the lady is known around the school for wearing expensive clothes and might have a rich background. The two have been dating for only two weeks.

“I have been Kendi’s friend since high school, I know her very well. They have only dated for two weeks and I don’t think the relationship will last,” another friend of the lady said.

Apparently, the young man was trying his best to impress the lady who most people said loves a flashy life.
